Identification Requirement

For International Investors

If you are not a U.S. citizen...please take note:

The USA PATRIOT Act was passed by the U.S. Congress after 9/11. It requires us to obtain additional information from you in order to establish identity.

In addition to your completed new account application…we will also need to receive a photocopy of your passport or other government-issued identification document.

While a photocopy of your passport is preferred, other acceptable documentation may include a photocopy of an official document showing nationality or residence, for example:

your social insurance number (SIN) card
your driver's license with verification of home address
your birth certificate.

We are not permitted to process your application until we have received a copy of one of these documents.

Also...non-U.S. citizens who reside outside the United States need to fill out the U.S. Tax Form W-8 BEN and send it in with their application, as well.
